After years of lockdown, Region 10 (Northern Mindanao) successfully held a face-to-face National Innovation Day on April 21-22, 2022. The event marked a significant milestone in the region’s journey towards innovation and technological advancement. Among the notable participants was Galansiyang Inc., a pioneering startup dedicated to reforestation and environmental conservation.

Galansiyang Inc. was once again invited to showcase their latest technological updates and share their inspiring startup story. The event provided a platform for the company to highlight their journey from the 2019 Project TANOM Drone Reforestation initiative with Nickel Asia Corporation – Cagdianao Miners at Dinagat Islands to their latest endeavor, Project RED-I.

Project TANOM, launched in 2019, was a groundbreaking initiative that utilized drone technology for reforestation. Partnering with Nickel Asia Corporation – Cagdianao Miners, Galansiyang successfully implemented drone-assisted reforestation in the Dinagat Islands, demonstrating the potential of technology in environmental conservation.

Building on this success, Galansiyang introduced Project RED-I, a collaborative effort with DOST Bukidnon and LGU Pangantucan. This project aims to empower the Indigenous People in Bukidnon by involving them in the creation and planting of seedballs using drones. The innovative approach not only promotes reforestation but also provides economic opportunities for the local communities, aligning with the principles of sustainable development.

During the National Innovation Day, Galansiyang’s team captivated the audience with their presentation, showcasing the evolution of their projects and the impact they have made.
