BAGUIO — The 69th Annual National Mine Safety and Environment Conference (ANMSEC) – Minerals Industry Symposium (MIS) 2023, held in Baguio, was a landmark event that brought together industry leaders, environmental scientists, and policymakers to discuss the latest advancements in mine safety and environmental sustainability. On November 16, 2023, Galansiyang, a pioneering startup in environmental technology in the Philippines, presented their research paper at the MIS 2023. The paper, titled “Project TANOM – Phase 1: Biomimetic Drone-Assisted Revegetation: A Novel Approach for Smart Mining Rehabilitation,” highlighted the results of their phase 1 drone reforestation pilot testing conducted in collaboration with Nickel Asia Corporation – Cagdianao Mining Corp. (CMC).

Galansiyang’s innovative approach utilizes drones and biotechnology to plant trees quickly and effectively. This biomimetic drone-assisted revegetation method has the potential to revolutionize mine rehabilitation by advancing science and technology. The presentation detailed how this method can contribute to a safer, smarter, and sustainable MINING 4.0, addressing the needs of over a thousand peers in geology, mining, and environmental science.

During the symposium, Galansiyang’s founders received a plaque of appreciation for the company’s significant contributions in fostering safer, smarter, and sustainable MINING 4.0.
